Introducing Keniann Eve Clark

Keniann Eve was born on September 13, 2011 (two days before her due date) at 3:09 am, she was 7 pounds 12.9 oz. and 20 inch long.

Our Labor and Delivery experience this time was very different than Wyatt's.  Around 1:15 on that morning, I woke up feeling a few contractions, but they weren't bad.  Then fifteen minutes later they were four minutes apart and were very painful so we packed up and headed to the hospital.  Every bump that we hit in the road was so incredibly painful!  Daniel noticed the intensity and frequency of the contractions were picking up so he decided to put on the flashers and pick up some speed (luckily we didn't get pulled over!).  Once we got to the hospital I was about to pass out so the ER front desk lady hurried and put me in a wheelchair and wheeled me to L and D.  I was so glad to see my parents there so that they could take Wyatt while Daniel stayed with me in the room.  Wyatt was actually in a very playful mood the whole time.  He even laughed at me every time I had a contraction, thinking I was being silly!
When the nurse checked me I was four cm at around 2:30 am.  I was on the fence this pregnancy on natural labor, but I chickened out and asked for the epidural quickly!   Everything was picking up fast (the pain, contractions, me sweating like crazy!)  It was only fifteen minutes later I was feeling the urge to push so the nurse checked and I was completely dilated so an epidural wasn't even an option anymore.  I was a little panicked, but I knew that there was nothing I could do or they could do at this point.  I was so thankful for my nurse!  She was a great coach!  Poor Daniel was about to pass out in the corner of the room, but he was a big help being there right by my side.  Luckily the nurse delivered Keniann because the doctor wasn't there in time since she came so fast (I only pushed twice).  I am VERY greatful that my labor wasn't long at all, only two hours!!!  Next time we will have to camp out at the hospital a week before my due date!

My nursing school buddies.  They drove all the way for New Orleans to see me (:

Going home (:

Just Beautiful

Wyatt was so happy to meet his sister that morning!  He told her "hey", smiled at her and gave her a kiss on her head.  I wish I had a picture or video of that but we didn't have time to grab our bags from the car since we were in a hurry.  Since we have been home Wyatt has his moments of wanting me, especially as I am nursing Keniann, but for the most part he is adjusting well.
Keniann is very laid back baby so far.  I am praying that she won't have a dairy and soy allergy like Wyatt had, but so far so good!  She is so alert when she hears Wyatt talking and playing.  Guess she's used to hearing that noise all day anyways!

Thanks to everyone for your prayers.  Hopefully I will be able to post more updates soon (:

Bucket List

Before Wyatt was born Daniel and I made up a "baby bucket list" of things to do (things to get done) before he arrived.  One thing on the list was to go out to eat for breakfast atleast once a month, since we knew once the baby were to come it wouldn't be so easy for us to go out for breakfast.  We had several other things on the list, but I can't remember exactly what the other things were.

I have my own bucket list before Keniann arrives.  Here are some things that are on my bucket list:
1)  Finish CEU's for my RN license (check)
2)  Serious deep cleaning throughout the house
3)  Finish Thank-you letters from shower (check)
4)  Pack everyone (me, Daniel, Wyatt and Keniann) for delivery/hospital stay (half-way check)
5)  Get pedicure (looking forward to this being checked!)

Two cute babies around our house

Here are a two different videos of two different babies around our house!

One is of a baby deer in our front yard that was separated from their momma temporarily.  To me it looks like the baby is lost and trying to find it's mom, but Daniel said that they were only playing.  It's so neat to see all kinds of animals, especially deer, living out here in the country!
The other video is of Wyatt.  He is the cutest and sweetest boy!  And I have the proof right here (:

Baby Shower

Thursday night was Keniann's baby shower at my mom's house that was given by my friends from church.  It was a great evening even though it was blazing hot outside!  We had the party inside, but we had the spacewalk for the kiddos that came.  My dad was a real hero monitoring all the kids playing outside while us moms were staying cool inside!  He got a kick out of some kids saying the funniest things to him!

I'm so huge at 34 weeks!

The big belly cake!  It was so delicious!

Not really sure about Wyatt's face in this picture?!  I think he was talking

All of the kids sang "Happy Birthday" to Keniann, it was really cute (:

My mawmaw made this beautiful handmade quilt for Keniann.  She is so incredibly talented!

Thank you Ms. Pat for our spacewalk!

Season of changes

We are preparing for a busy season of many changes in our near future.   Obviously, Keniann is one major change that will be happening in the next 7 weeks or so.  We haven't put the bassinet together, baby swing, etc., but we plan on doing those things within the next couple of weeks.  I have some clothes already washed and in drawers and closets just waiting for her to wear.  I have a list of things that I need from Babies R Us, but I'm not going to do that until after my baby shower (my church friends are soo incredibly sweet to be giving me a second baby shower next week!)  Jennifer (my sister-n-law) is letting us borrow her crib and nap nanny to use.  I can't wait to try out the nap nanny!  Jennifer loved using hers and I've always wanted to get one.
I have one more two week check-up two weeks from today and then it's every week until Keniann is here!   The reality of her being here soon is starting to sink in and we are getting excited!  I'm still very nervous going from having only one to having two little ones.  I am starting to think and plan out scenarios of being prepared to nurse Keniann every two hours for thirty minutes or more at a time while having Wyatt toddling around me.  A friend suggested to have a "nursing toy box" for Wyatt so whenever I am nursing I will have designated toys/videos for him to play with only during nursing sessions.  I like that idea so I plan on trying that out.  I also know that he can sit beside me on the couch while I read a story to him if he wants to be close to us.  If anyone has any other suggestions that worked for them please let me know (:
We have been very active in looking for a home and a newer truck for Daniel.  His truck is terrible on gas and we would like another vehicle for us as a family to be able to ride in.  His truck now is only a single cab so when we have family outings, we always have to take the car (which has been no big deal so far).  We are also getting very close to purchasing our first home.  Our little rent house has been a huge blessing, but after four years we are ready to be homeowners.  We will miss our outside space since we have tons for Wyatt to roam around.  I hope he will do ok with a smaller yard, a much smaller yard!
We look forward to what God is doing in our lives (and will be doing) and are trusting him in his perfect timing for everything.  We are trying not to rush into anything and are taking time in prayer. We are extremely greatful that these changes are great blessings for our family (:

Wyatt's first haircut

Wyatt had his very first haircut a couple weeks ago.  I was so afraid his curls would be gone forever, but luckily his hair was still curly after the haircut (:  There was a stylemasters in Zachary we went to and Mrs. Kay who cut his hair did a great job!  Wyatt actually sat very still and never budged once while Mrs. Kay had given him his first big boy haircut.  I think Wyatt really enjoyed it!  He loves it when I brush or run my fingers through his hair so I'm sure the haircut experience felt good for him.

Wyatt's push car

Here are some video's of Daniel running while pushing Wyatt's push car and pulling him in the car with the lawnmower.  These kids are too funny!

New Updates on Wyatt and KeniAnn, hair bows, and a really big fish

Today was Wyatt's 18 month check-up.  Wow, 18 months already!  Our pediatrician just had her third baby earlier this month and since she is still on maternity leave there was a new doctor filling in for her.  Her name is Dr. Suazo and she is really great!  Wyatt only had to get one shot, which he did not like at all!  But Cheerios made his tears dry up quick.  Here are his stats: 20 pounds and 12 ounces and 31 inches long.

Wyatt is doing a little better everyday using his spoon/fork.  He can pick up only certain foods on his spoon/fork and can put them in his mouth.  He doesn't get the opportunity to practice this skill alot (since it makes kind-of a mess), but sometimes I let him try after I feed him.  Wyatt can say so many words!  He will repeat almost any word you ask him to.  Today he said "I eat" before lunch.  Well actually it sounded more like "eye eee", but I got the message!  He says lots of words with an "m" in the front like "mawnmower" and "melmo."  And since he is very clingy to me his favorite word is "mommie."  It melts my heart every time (:  He really loves tractors, cars, and lawnmowers (pretty much anything that has wheels).  He absolutely loves being around other children.  Every three days he goes to the nursery at the gym while I work out and gets to play with so many kids there, especially during the summer since kids are off of school.  He gets really excited when I drop him off.  In fact, when I go to pick him up he runs circles around me so I can't catch him because he knows he has to leave.

KeniAnn is moving more and more everyday.  She has gotten in a pattern of when she moves during the day, which helps me to monitor her movement better.  I am 29 weeks today and am feeling the urge lately to "nest."  I really don't have any cravings right now, except for juice.  I really like orange juice and grape juice.

My good friend from church had given me some of really cute hair bows for KeniAnn.

Aren't they cute?!  I can't wait for KeniAnn to wear them!  I like the camo and pink one (:

Daniel and his buddy Josh caught a 41 pound catfish at their camp a couple of weeks ago.  It was huge!
Daniel got a lot of meat out of that fish.  Wyatt was just mesmerized by it.

Summer Fun

Sorry it's been so long since the last Clark Family update...I needed time away from blogging for awhile for various reasons.  However, I did miss updating family/friends with posts and pictures.  Plus we have been super busy this summer so far.  I will try my best to give updates in a timely manner (:

The Clark Family went to the beach with my folks last month.  It was a very relaxing trip!  The weather was nice and breezy.  There was only one day where it rained in the afternoon.  My parents did a great job watching Wyatt at times so I could sneak in a few naps.  Daniel and I also had a couple of "dates" on the trip too, which was really nice!  Wyatt enjoyed playing in the sand and water.  He wasn't sure what to think the first time he touched the sand, but it didn't take him long to enjoy playing in it.
