Getting Better

I haven't posted yet about Keniann's acid reflux.  She has had it since the day she was born.  It has been a very hard season dealing with this, but thankfully we have seen some improvement in the past few months.  Keniann has been on medication since she was 4 months old and it has been the only thing that has worked.  I have tried the chiropractor (which we still go to one day a week) and even gone to a holistic doctor to try different herb supplements, but all those didn't seem to help her one bit.  I hate her taking the medicine, but I had to come to a point of surrender when everything else seemed to fail.  I'm hoping she will be able to be off the medicine by the time she turns one.  My doctor told me that most children are able to once they start walking and taking in more solids.

In other news, Keniann had a big nursing strike a few weeks ago, which lead to her weaning herself.  It was a hard time for me because I was at no point of stopping breastfeeding, but she just kept refusing me for every feeding!  She even refused breastmilk from the bottle, which was so strange!  My doctor told me that some babies once they get a bottle of formula, they don't go back.  That's exactly what happened to Keniann.  I thought I would make it to atleast a year this time, but atleast I made it this far!  I was also torn because Keniann has so many allergies to things I ate that I was starting to get burnt out with the foods I was eating.  And I was also starting to feel nutritionally deprived, even though I was taking atleast 8 different supplements daily to make sure my body was getting everything it needed.

But the bright side is that I can actually eat anything I want and it feels liberating!  I actually get to eat dairy, soy, nuts, banana's and other things (it's a long list) that she was allergic too!  I just find it odd that she can handle regular dairy formula, but yet still react to my milk when I ate dairy.  Strange?!  I asked the doctor about that one too and she has never heard of such.  I told her that I tested it enough to make sure that this was true.  I'm just glad she isn't hurting anymore from the things that she was allergic too!

Lately

It's harvest time here at the Clark home!  We have been busy planting, picking and cooking all of our vegetables from our garden.  So far we have enjoyed fresh green beans, potatoes, turnips, lettuce, spinach, beets, squash, peas, and zucchini.  The fig tree has tons, in mean TONS of figs that will be ready to eat within the next month.  I don't know if I will have time this year to make fig jelly, but boy is it good!  Also we live close to a blueberry farm and they will be ready this coming up week.  Can't wait for those (:

We are done with painting in the new house, except cabinets which we plan on doing those the next two weekends or so.  I am so ready to move!  I can't wait for all the space we will have!

Wyatt's favorite thing he loves to do lately is to impatiently inform me of when Keniann does something that needs my attention like cleaning up spit up on the floor or grab her before she makes a crawling dash to pull up on the tv stand.  He also says the phrase, "Oh no" alot and loves talking about riding the tractor or "mawn mower".  He has been a big helper around the house too.  He likes to throw things in the trash when I ask him or pick up his toys.  He loves watching Curious George and The Cat in The Hat, as well as wanting me to read those to him.

Keniann is crawling up a storm!  She is getting quicker by the day.  She has recently started walking while holding on to the couch or her activity table.  She loves to follow Wyatt everywhere he goes!  And once she finally catches up to him she squeals and smiles so big, it's really crazy cute!!

And the rest of this post are pictures, enjoy (:

Watching a dvd together

They even play trucks together (:

Tractor boy and Chatter box

Wyatt loves riding his tractor.  He rides it pretty much everytime we go outside to play!

Keniann has become quite the talker lately.  She melts my heart (:

A Busy Season

We are still steadily working on the home before we move in.  So far we have new paint on the walls, the popcorn off ceilings and soon we will be working on redoing the flooring.  I promise to have some pictures up once we are done (:  I am so ready to move!!  I'm really looking forward to Keniann having her own room since she is still in our bedroom.  I think that will help all of us sleep better.

Not only are we busy with the house, but it seems like lately we going through this big wave of birthday parties, showers and weddings.

Before I had Keniann, so many people told me that it's easy in the beginning when going from one to two kids because the baby just eats and sleeps.  Well, for me that wasn't true at all!  Now that Keniann is seven months old I can say that it has never been easy so far and I feel like it gets busier the older she gets.  I wouldn't say that it is "harder", but just busier.  For example, Keniann has started solids the past couple of weeks so not only do I have to fix Wyatt's and my lunch, but I also have to make Keniann's as well.

But I think that everyone can be busy.  Actually, most people I talk to tell me that they have been busy.  So I try to remember to appreciate the season I'm in because it won't last long.

Happy 6 months!

Keniann, you turned 6 months yesterday and boy has it been a super fast six months!!  A lot has changed in a month.  This past month you have started to:

-practice sitting up independently (you are so close!)

-crawling/scooting (it's more like a half crawl/half army crawl with some baby yoga in the mix)

-driving your brother crazy!  It's been so much fun to watch you two interact

At six months, you are taking the phrase "baby proofing" to a whole new level.  You are already getting into things that Wyatt never did at his age.  I will walk away for only a second and come back to find you way across the room from where you were.  I can already tell that you are going to give us a run for our money.  Good thing you are really cute (:

In the past few weeks, I have introduced rice cereal to you and you have loved it!  For months now you have gotten excited just seeing me eat or drink something so I felt like you might be interested in eating yourself.  You love your milk though!  And your chuncky thighs can prove it (:  You nurse now for only 5 min on one side about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours during the day and wake up 2 or 3 times a night to eat.

Everytime I rock you to sleep you reach your little arm straight out to feel my face to go to sleep.  It's just about the sweetest thing ever and my favorite time with you.

Here are some few other random things that I would be sad to forget:

*Your favorite thing to scoot for is the remote control.  And once you have it you hold it in the air and study all the buttons on it.
*You rub your eyes when you are sleepy
*Your favorite spot is being on the floor.  Jumping in your jumper is also a favorite as well!
*You have always and still love to sleep on your tummy
*You are in a size 3 diaper.  You wear 6-9 month cloths and you wear a size 1 or 2 shoe.
*You watch me everywhere I go, and you cry almost everytime I leave the room.  You also love watching Wyatt wherever he goes, and you get really happy when your daddy gets home from work!!

My kids are really funny

Wyatt and Keniann have been interacting much more these days.  Wyatt loves running around Keniann and seeing her laugh at him!  That's probably one of his favorite things to do.  Who needs toys or tv when you have siblings?!!

playing

As you can see Wyatt loves playing on his laptop when Daniel or I are on ours.  His leapfrog laptop was one of his gifts from Santa.  He really likes the music features and checking his own email.  This toy has been one of his favorites lately.  There is also a way for me to write him email and send to him on his laptop.

Here is a little video of Keniann.  This girl is a mover!  She has been rocking on her hands and knees for a few weeks.  I'm actually not ready for her to crawl.  I'm not sure if I'm ready for two on the move!!  Everytime I put her in the bumbo or her bouncer she tries to get out and sometimes she is almost successful at it if I'm not keeping a close eye on her.  My mom has a jumper for her at her house and she has loved being in that!  That keeps her entertained for awhile.

New Home

It won't be long before we move to our new home!  We are thinking we should be able to move in a month or two.  We are done with taking wall paper down, thanks to my mom and Daniel (:  Now all we need to do some painting and change flooring (and maybe a few other things).

Our future home!  Our new 4 bedroom home will be a big difference from our 2 bedroom home!

Breakfast

Since Daniel has started his new job, he leaves the house before the kids get up the morning to be at his work for 6:30.  This is a big change from our old routine of him leaving the house at 7:45!  But what's really nice about his new job is that he gets off at 10:30 in the morning on Fridays!  So breakfast during the week is just me and the kiddos.  I'm really thankful that Wyatt likes instant oatmeal because that has been his typical breakfast lately.

New hat and bubble butt

Wyatt got a new hat from his Memaw (Daniel's grandmaw) and he won't leave the house without wearing it.  He loves that hat, probably because his daddy has one just like it.  It's a camouflage John Deere hat.  I think he looks too cute in his hat!

In other news, Keniann has been growing so much lately!  It's so hard to believe that she will be 5 months coming up!  She wears cloth diapers (part-time) and the only downside to them is that they make her have a bubble butt, especially with pants on!   If she does wear her cloth diapers I can't put her in her normal size pants because they are too small to fit over the cloth diapers.  But so far they work just as good as disposables and I love the cute patterns on them (:
