Birthday party and playing in the dirt

Saturday was Mawmaw Berryhill's (Daniel's mawmaw) birthday and our first adventure of the day was celebrating her birthday at the nursing home with family and friends of Mrs. Berryhill's.  She was so happy so many people were there to celebrate her birthday day with her!  There was yummy butter cream cake that was so good.  Wyatt loved eating his piece of cake.  Thanks to Aunt Lauren for feeding it to him while I had a moment to savor mine without worrying about him!  It's little moments like these a mother can appreciate (:  It was a very pleasant gathering (I think I can speak for everyone there).
Later Wyatt and I took advantage of the beautiful day all afternoon.  Wyatt crawled around the yard and even played in the dirt that Daniel tilled up for our garden.  Boy, did he have a great time!  He even tasted it a few times, but didn't like how it tasted.  I'm glad he didn't like it.  It seems like a tradition in childhood to taste dirt, atleast one time (:
We have plenty of dirt where are garden is going (we are planting closer to Easter to make sure all the cold weather is gone).  This is our third garden since we have lived here and all have been very successful in producing us with good vegetables.  Fresh cooked green beans and steamed butternut squash are my favorite!  I love that we can grow our own food, especially for Wyatt and future baby Clark.  The only probem we face every year are the deer.  We have tried many different things to keep them out, but most have failed.  Luckily we still end up with enough vegetables.

Crawling in the garden

Wyatt is talking in this picture and in the one below.  He probably is saying how awesome it is playing in the dirt.  That's what "bah"means, maybe (:

Yummmy!

baby belly or too much lunch?

I am currently 11 weeks and 2 days and my belly is starting to show (barely) already!  I didn't realize I would start showing so fast, but other moms say that it's normal for the second, especially when having them close together.  But my belly is far from looking pregnant.  It just looks like I ate too much!  When I was pregnant with Wyatt I started showing somewhere around 3 1/2 months to 4 months.  I had also gained 4 pounds the first trimester with Wyatt, but with this one I am still down 5 pounds since becoming pregnant (but I know that will quickly catch up, especially since I eat a bowl of ice cream almost night!)

Here is a picture of the belly at 11.2 weeks...

My little baby belly!
I tell Wyatt sometimes that there is a baby in my tummy and when I put my hand on my tummy he likes to do the same.  It's really sweet (:  I want Wyatt to know his brother or sister before they make their arrival like it is his baby too.

My curly haired boy

Wyatt's curls have really grown lately.  I haven't given him his first haircut and I don't plan on giving him one anytime soon in fear of loosing his beautiful curls!  He either got his curls from Daniel's brother or my older brother who had tons of curls as a child.  My hair is wavy, but was never curly.  Daniel was born with straight hair.  Before children I used to dream of having a child that has  lots of curls!  Wyatt is that child as you can see from the pictures (:

Look at all those curls!  I love it (:

Wyatt's old friend and pictures

I have a drawer in the kitchen where I keep all of Wyatt's cups, dishes, bibs, etc.  I usually pull out the drawer for Wyatt to play with while I'm busy doing something in the kitchen.  Well today Wyatt discovered his old bottle that was tucked away towards the back of the drawer.  I was hoping he wouldn't find it because I was afraid if he saw it he would get attached to it again.   I was surprised when he looked at it for a minute and then threw it on the floor.  I guess it's been long enough that he has forgotten about it.  Wyatt has been completely off the bottle for a month and a half now.

Wyatt finding his old bottle

Wyatt loves trying to take all of this out of the drawer.

Cutie (:

Wyatt loves to look at books.  He plays with them more than his toys.

He's too busy to smile for the camera!

Happy Valentines Day!

Today has been a fantastic day (:  We got to see Baby C at our ultrasound today!  What a little wiggle worm he/she was!  Their little arm buds were throwing punches, it was too cute!  It is truly amazing to me how a baby grows so fast in the beginning months of life!

Baby C is looking good!  Heartbeat is at 168bpm.

                                                  So amazing (:

Right now I am 9 weeks and 5 days, which puts my due date on September 14th.  September is a popular month for birthdays on my side of the family!  I think this will be the fourth or fifth birthday for September birthdays in my family.
Today has been a gorgeous day for strolling down the driveway!  Wyatt loved finally being able to be outside after staying couped up in the house away from the cold weather.

Happy Valentines Day from the Clark Family (:

Matthew 16:24,25

Just thought I would share one of my favorite verses...

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.  For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it." Matt 16:24,25

If we try to save our physical life from death, pain or discomfort, we may risk losing our true eternal life.  If we protect ourselves from pain, we begin to die spiritually and emotionally.  Our lives turn inward, and we lose our intended purpose.  When we give our lives in service to Christ we discover the real purpose of living.  This is a constant reminder for me everyday sometimes almost every hour, min, sec.

Thank you Lord that your death has brought us a new life in you!

New Doctor

I knew the next time I would get pregnant after Wyatt I wanted to switch doctors and hospitals.  I did not have one bad experience throughout my entire pregnancy and labor/delivery of Wyatt at Woman's Hospital, but I did feel like a number more than a patient.  Woman's is a wonderful hospital that is the best hospital for having a baby in the Baton Rouge area.  All staff are trained at the highest level of performance and the doctors know how to quickly react in emergency situations.  Wyatt's delivery was a true emergency and I am very thankful that I had a wonderful doctor/nurse team at Woman's.  I had an ultrasound at my 38 week appointment because Wyatt's position was difficult for the doctor to tell.  The ultrasound showed Wyatt in perfect position for delivery except his environment was extremely dangerous.  My amniotic fluid level was at 1.8 when it shouldv'e been from 5 to 8.  On that day I literally had to power walk straight to the hospital (my doctor told me to hurry to L and D), which luckily was only a couple feet away and was induced for labor immediately.  It was a scary time for us.  No one was sure if Wyatt was going to be ok.  Most babies do not survive in that environment for long.  And a majority of them have meconium, which is where they have a bowel movement inside where it usually gets into the baby's lungs and it's very difficult for the baby to breath.  I think I prayed over a thousand times that day!  Thankfully Wyatt was born 12 hours later with no complications and there was no meconium as well.

This time I am going to a wonderful doctor at Lane Memorial Hospital.  It is only 15 to 20 min from the house, which is so nice compared to driving 45 min to Woman's.  The hospital is alot smaller, but I will not be loosing out on the benefits of great care.  Recently their L and D unit was remodeled and the nurses are trained at Woman's Hospital.  I know a handful of people who have recently delivered there and have told me of what a wonderful experience they had.  My new doctor is big on patient centered care and a Christian, which I love!  He let's me make most decisions (within reason) of what I want for my pregnancy and L/ D experience.  He is even ok with going natural, which I'm still not sure yet but I think I would like to try this time.  He did tell me that there would be a slight increase risk of low amniotic fluid again and that if it made me feel better he would do an utrasound as the due date gets closer.

Another benefit to having the baby at Lane is that my mom lives 5 min away from the hospital, which will be really nice for Wyatt staying there for a couple of days.  It will make it so much easier for just Daniel and I to have the opportunity to just focus on the new baby and it will be easy for Wyatt to see us throughout the day.

Boys will be boys

Here is a video of Wyatt and Daniel playing on our bed just before Wyatt's bedtime.  When Daniel started tossing Wyatt really high in the air or spinning him around on the floor, I didn't like that too much at first (I can't help it, I'm a mom).  I guess it must be a boy thing because Wyatt really loves it when Daniel plays rough with him.  I guess boys will be boys!  Maybe I will have a little girl to balance out all of the testosterone around me (:

The chipmunk who lives in our garage

We have had a chipmunk living in our garage ever since we moved in our little house three and a half years ago.  He only comes out of the garage when we are inside and he usually likes to play under the car if he isn't in the garage.  I only can recall one time where I walked into the garage and I noticed the chipmunk was a couple of feet from me.  The confrontation only lasted just seconds before the chipmunk quickly made a mad dash under the car. Usually we name our little creatures that live around the house, but we haven't given him one yet.  We had a squirrel named Eddie and a rabbit named Bunny.  We haven't seen those two since the hurricane.  The other day I saw a black cat in the front yard, but I haven't seen him since.  I don't care for cats so I am glad he hasn't called our house his home yet.
I have two windows over the sink that face the garage opening so I usually spot the chipmunk when I'm doing dishes.  Since we don't have a dish washer I see the chipmunk quite often.   I feel like I do the dishes all day long!  I told Daniel the other day that not only am I excited we are getting closer to purchasing a home, but I really can't wait to have a dish washer!!!  Before I had Wyatt I never complained much about doing the dishes, but now it's very difficult doing chores with a one year old, especially when the majority of my free time is doing dishes!  Atleast I will appreciate a dish washer whenever I have one ( :

Sorry for the off subject dish complaining!  Most people don't even have a sink and water to wash their dishes.  I think I should rename this post!

Back to the chipmunk...here is a picture of our little chipmunk.

You can barely see him.  I took this picture of him through our window above the sink.  He is on the edge of the concrete.  He likes this spot the most ( :  He looks like he could be our guard dog!
